Rail News: Railroading People
Yesterday, Kansas City Southern named James Brook vice president and comptroller. He succeeds Mark Osterberg, who was appointed VP and comptroller in January.
Brook most recently served Aquila Inc. as VP of international regulation. Since 1993, he also served Aquila in a number of senior executive positions, including VP-controller and chief accounting officer.
During his 20-year electric and gas utility career, Brook gained experience in management, corporate governance, international mergers and acquisitions, audit and regulatory matters, and financial reporting.
"Jim brings a fresh perspective to the railroad industry that will be an asset as Kansas City Southern grows and strengthens in the NAFTA trade corridor," said Ronald Russ, KCS executive VP and chief financial officer, in a prepared statement.
