Los Angeles Mayor James Hahn recently appointed city Councilman Ed Reyes to the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority board to succeed L.A. Councilman Antonio Villaraigosa, who resigned.
"Ed shares my goal of providing efficient, affordable and effective mass transit to the residents of Los Angeles," said Hahn in a prepared statement. "He understands that no big city can truly offer economic opportunity to its residents without also providing a great public transportation network."
