League of Railway Industry Women names IDMC's DeLeon 'Woman of the Year'
advertisement
The League of Railway Industry Women (LRIW) has named International Decal Management Corp. (IDMC) President Tracy DeLeon as the recipient of the organization's 2012 "Outstanding Woman of the Year Award." Sponsored by Progressive Railroading, the award recognizes an individual's dedication, commitment and contribution to the rail industry.
DeLeon began her rail career in 1989 as a contract coordinator with Northbrook Corp., which in 1994 was purchased by First Union Rail. There, DeLeon served as director of maintenance projects. In 1997, she joined CIT as assistant vice president of fleet operations and held that position until 2003, when she joined Trans-Tech L.L.C. as vice president of sales.
While at Trans-Tech, DeLeon recognized a market need for a supplier of vinyl stenciling and other rail applications in the Midwest. In 2004, she launched IDMC in Bentonville, Ark., and "single-handedly developed a strong customer base, showing a profit in her first year of business," according to a form submitted to the LRIW nominating committee. "Her company is a Women's Business Enterprise certified company and continues to show growth in these difficult economic times," the nomination form states.
DeLeon will be honored during the LRIW's annual luncheon, which will be held Sept. 24 at the Sheraton Hotel Chicago, Ballroom 5, as part of the Railway Supply Institute's annual conference. For more information on the event, contact Kaleigh Reyes, 904-313-3112; Email: kaleigh.reyes@ge.com; Web: www.lriw.org/match/node/2
