The Livonia, Avon & Lakeville Railroad (LAL) recently named Carl Belke vice president of engineering for LAL and its subsidiaries B&H Rail Corp. and Western New York & Pennsylvania Railroad (WNYP).
He will succeed Thomas McTighe Jr., who retired after heading LAL’s engineering for more than 40 years. McTighe will continue to oversee selected projects.
Belke, who has more than 30 years’ experience in railroading, previously served the Rock Island, Delaware and Hudson, Canadian Pacific Railway and Genesee & Wyoming Inc. in various capacities.
LAL also announced it appointed Thomas Collard VP to succeed Michael Connor, who retired. Most recently WNYP’s general manager, Collard previously held various positions at the Central Railroad of New Jersey, Conrail and Southern Railroad of New Jersey.
LAL and its subsidiaries operate a 404-mile system in western New York and northwestern Pennsylvania.
