The Georgia Ports Authority (GPA) announced last week that Curtis Foltz will step down as executive director on June 30. Griff Lynch, who currently serves as GPA's chief operating officer, will succeed Foltz.

"Curtis Foltz has led the GPA to achieve great things over the past six years as executive director, and the six years prior as chief operating officer," said Board Chair Jim Walters in a press release. "In addition to record cargo growth, GPA, under Curtis' leadership, modernized its terminals and developed operational practices that increased efficiency, improved safety and focused on environmental stewardship."

GPA Nominating Committee Chair Jimmy Allgood said Lynch's "extensive operational and port management skills" make him the "perfect" executive director candidate.

Added Foltz, who will provide consulting services to GPA for one year after his departure: "Griff is the right choice to lead this great organization to new heights."
