Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) recently added four new members to its board.
Clara Axam will represent the city of Atlanta. She serves as project director for The Enterprise Foundation’s Mechanicsville Community Learning Collaborative, a program designed to improve student achievement, build community relationships and revitalize the Mechanicsville neighborhood.
Founder and senior partner at law firm Glaze, Harris, Arnold & Mack P.C., George Glaze will represent Clayton County.
New representative for DeKalb County, J. Thomas Kilpatrick is a partner at Alston & Bird L.L.P.’s Labor and Employment Law Group.
Finally, Pat Upshaw-Monteith is the new representative for DeKalb County. She serves as executive director or Leadership Atlanta, an organization dedicated to developing Atlanta by teaching new-generation leaders about the city’s core values.
"MARTA will benefit from the broad range of practical experience that each new board member brings to our organization," said MARTA General Manager/CEO Nathaniel P. Ford Sr. in a prepared statement.
