Yesterday, the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) board appointed Richard McCrillis general manager and chief executive officer, a position he has held on an interim basis since January, when Nathaniel Ford left the agency to assume the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency’s top post.
Since joining MARTA in 1985 as director of treasury services, McCrillis has served as assistant general manager for audit and assistant general manager for finance/chief financial officer.
During his interim GM/CEO tenure, McCrillis helped MARTA end FY2006 with an operating surplus for the first time in almost a decade, according to the agency.
