The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) has installed Shelton Goode as executive director of diversity and inclusion.

He started the job in June. Goode most recently served as director of diversity and inclusion at Oshkosh Corp. He has more than two decades of human resources and business development experience.

In addition, Goode "has a proven track record of leading diversity and inclusion programs for major companies while creating robust training and successful outreach programs within global organizations," said MARTA General Manager and Chief Executive Officer Keith Parker in a press release.

At MARTA, Goode will be responsible for implementing diversity and inclusion strategies, as well as equal employment opportunity programs. He'll also be charged with working collaboratively with key stakeholders, businesses, customers and employees to ensure equitable and nondiscriminatory practices are upheld.

An Air Force veteran, Goode has served in various human resources and diversity roles with Georgia Power, Alabama Power and PPL Services Corp.
