The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) yesterday named Collie Greenwood deputy general manager of operations.

Greenwood will oversee MARTA rail and bus operations, and develop and deliver major capital projects, including the procurement of 254 rail cars from Stadler Rail, MARTA officials said in a press release.

Greenwood previously served as chief of bus operations.

“Over the course of this unprecedented year, Collie has shown steadfast leadership with his tireless support of our bus operations, and his willingness to make the tough decisions demanded by the pandemic,” said MARTA General Manager and Chief Executive Officer Jeffrey Parker. “I am confident he will bring that same commitment to the rail side of our operation and lead the way as we prepare for exciting systemwide enhancements and expansion.”

Greenwood also co-chairs MARTA’s Return to New Normal Task Force, which has developed, coordinated and implemented systemwide employee and customer safety measures during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Greenwood will work with Deputy Chief of Bus Operations Santiago Osorio and Deputy Chief of Rail Operations George Wright, and will report directly to Parker.
