Yesterday, the The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) board named Beverly Scott general manager.
Currently GM of the Sacramento Regional Transit District, Scott will succeed MARTA GM Richard McCrillis, who plans to retire in 2008.
Scott’s background includes a stint as GM of the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority. She’s also held various executive-level positions with transit agencies in New York City and Washington, D.C.
McCrillis will remain GM until Scott, whom the MARTA board had identified as a “leading candidate” to replace him during a national search last year, is “available to assume her duties,” according to a MARTA statement.
