The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority has hired Josh Rowan to serve as deputy general manager.
Rowan will oversee MARTA's capital improvement program, which includes maintaining and upgrading MARTA assets and expanding the agency's high-capacity transit service.
Rowan has 26 years of experience in program and construction management and has delivered more than $5 billion in facility and infrastructure projects under his leadership. Most recently, he was GM of Atlanta's Renew/TSPLOST Program, and he is the former commissioner of the Atlanta Department of Transportation.
"Josh has a deep knowledge of the entire project-delivery process in both the public and private sector," said MARTA Interim GM and CEO Collie Greenwood. "His global experience with capital construction programs, combined with his local successes with the city's Renew Program, transportation department and 2022 infrastructure referendum make him uniquely qualified."
