MARTA's Ford to assume San Francisco agency's top post, Carroll to take over as interim GM

Yesterday, the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) appointed Deputy General Manager Phil Carroll interim general manager to succeed Nathaniel Ford Jr., who recently accepted a position as executive director of San Francisco Municipal Railway. Ford’s last day at MARTA will be Jan. 16.
Carroll served as MARTA’s vice president for facilities maintenance from 1993 to 2000, when he was named deputy general manager.
