MTA hires Peloquin to be chief operating officer

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) yesterday selected Mario Peloquin to serve as chief operating officer of the New York agency.

Peloquin has more than 30 years of expertise in the transportation and rail industry.

Most recently, he served as a senior vice president at SNC-Lavalin where he led business development for the infrastructure construction division.

His other prior roles include president and chief executive officer at Thales Transport & Security Inc., general manager of Nova Bus, operator and rail traffic controller at CN, senior adviser in rail safety at Transport Canada and senior investigator with the Transportation Safety Board of Canada.

He also served stints at Siemens and AECOM. 

“Mario has the talent and expertise to continue to drive forward the operational gains we have achieved and help bring the MTA into a new era of customer service at this this critical time in the agency’s history,” said MTA Chairman and CEO Patrick Foye in a press release.
