advertisement
The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) recently appointed Paul MacMillan chief of the Transit Police Department. He had served as acting chief since last year, when Joseph Carter left the department to become adjutant general of the Massachusetts National Guard.
A member of the department since 1983, MacMillan previously was deputy chief. He has overseen efforts to quell disturbances and disorderly conduct among youth, address sexual harassment, obtain state and national re-accreditation, and reduce violence in Boston. MacMillan also serves as chairman of the American Public Transportation Association's Committee on Public Safety.
