Marmon Rail has appointed Jay McGill president of Transco Rail Services following the retirement of Bob Nelson after more than two decades of leadership.

Marmon introduced Transco Rail Services in January, a new repair brand identity within the Marmon Rail organization that brings together UTLX Field Services, Procor Field Services and Transco Fixed Repair Shops under one name. McGill assumed the presidency on April 1.

“Bob [Nelson] has played an instrumental role in the growth and extraordinary success of the Transco business,” said Chris Hagge, president of Marmon Railyard and Repair Services in a press release. “His leadership has positioned the organization for long-term success, and we are grateful for his many contributions to the business and our customers.”

In his new role as president of repair services, mobile and on-site services, McGill oversees operations at more than 100 service locations across the United States and Canada.

McGill has served in vice president and general manager roles for Marmon Rail since 2015, and he has held leadership positions with Procor Ltd., ProgressRail TransCanada and VAE Nortrak.
