The Port Authority of Allegheny County's board on Friday voted to name Ellen McLean chief executive officer, effective Feb. 1.McLean has been serving as the authority's interim CEO for the past several months and previously was its chief financial officer.She "successfully led the authority through a challenging period that included the formation of a new board of directors under a change in Pennsylvania state law, and a change in CEO," authority officials said in a press release."Ellen's financial expertise and ability to work collaboratively toward solutions has set her apart," said Bob Hurley, the port authority's chairman. "It’'s become abundantly clear over the past six months that she is the right person to lead the port authority at this most critical time."McLean joined the authority in 2010 as CFO, overseeing financial planning, operating and capital budgets. Her previous experience includes a six-year stint as CFO for the city of Pittsburgh under Mayor Tom Murphy and managing director of Infrastructure Initiatives for the Urban Land Institute in Washington, D.C.
