Metrolink yesterday announced that Frank Castellon has been named the agency's chief safety, security and compliance officer.

Castellon brings more than 17 years of transit-rail and systems safety experience to Metrolink. He previously was director of safety and security at the Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District in Oregon. Castellon worked in similar roles at Valley Metro in Phoenix, the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority and Bombardier Transportation North America Inc.

"As the backbone of the region’s transportation system across six [California] counties, we look forward to the vision and perspectives Frank will bring to this critical position at Metrolink," said Metrolink CEO Dan Kettle in a press release.

Castellon is a certified Federal Transit Administration transit safety and security practitioner.
