Rio Grande Pacific Corp. recently appointed Tres Meyer chief operating officer of the Nebraska Central Railroad Co. He will report to Rio Grande Pacific President Robert Bach.

Meyer began his railroading career 16 years ago as a conductor with RailTex, which later merged with RailAmerica Inc. Since then, he has held several posts at RailAmerica, including manager of safety, training and operating practices for seven states, and general manager of properties in Connecticut, Alabama and Kansas, most recently the Kyle Railroad.

"We continue to broaden our base of leadership and expertise. Tres adds other dimensions of knowledge in a diverse portfolio such as safety, government affairs and union relationships, as well as environmental issues," said Bach in a press release.

Founded in 1986, Rio Grande Pacific maintains rail operations in Nebraska, Louisiana, Oregon, Idaho, Oklahoma and Texas.
