The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) recently appointed Robby Burt deputy director of the Freight, Rails, Ports and Waterways Division.

He will be responsible for working with state, local and federal agencies to improve the movement of goods and people across the state's intermodal transportation network.

Burt, who has more than a decade of experience in transportation planning, most recently served as statewide planning manager. He previously held various positions in MDOT's Planning Division.
