The National Association of Railroad Passengers (NARP) has hired Betsy Nelson as director of resource development. In the role, she'll maintain communication between NARP, its members and rail industry partners to promote passenger-rail as part of a "sustainable, connected America," NARP officials said in a press release. She'll also help NARP represent passenger needs on Capitol Hill and beyond."Betsy has a true and unmistakable passion for a balanced transportation system in the U.S.— one that provides people with transportation choice," said NARP President and Chief Executive Officer Jim Mathews.Nelson previously was a project manager and computer programmer with Western Geophysical.
