The National Railroad Construction and Maintenance Association (NRC) recently selected Railroad Construction Co. Inc. (RCC) Chairman and Chief Executive Officer James Daloisio as the 2013 Hall of Fame inductee. The hall of fame award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the NRC and the rail construction and maintenance industry.
A third-generation railroader, Daloisio has worked in his family's business for 50 years. During his tenure at RCC and its predecessor and related companies, he gained experience in all aspects of the industry, both in the field and the office, including workforce development, estimating, engineering, design, project management, negotiation and corporate development, NRC officials said in a prepared statement.
Daloisio's companies have successfully performed projects for dozens of freight- and transit-rail customers, including CSX Transportation, Conrail, Norfolk Southern Railway, and hundreds of short lines and regionals, they said.
"In addition to the leadership Jim has brought to his rail contracting companies, he continues to apply his experience and knowledge to advance the industry as a whole," NRC officials said. "Railroad Construction Co. of South Jersey is one of the founding members of the NRC and has helped to grow it into the active and influential association it is today. He has long been a fixture at NRC and various other rail industry events."
The NRC will honor Daloisio at its 2013 conference and exhibition to be held Jan. 9-12 in Miami.
