Norfolk Southern Railway Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Ed Elkins last year was appointed to the Georgia Chamber Executive Committee as foundation chair and will serve as vice chair this year, according to an article on NS' website.

Elkins' new role was announced Jan. 10 during the Georgia Chamber’s annual legislative breakfast, where he addressed a gathering of more than 2,500 legislators, business leaders and state elected officials, including Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp.

“Norfolk Southern is proud to play our part in supporting [Georgia's] growth," said Elkins in the article. "That's why we chose to move our headquarters here, and it is why we are wholly invested in Georgia’s long-term success — from economic to community development, and everything in between."

With Jones, Elkins discussed Georgia's workforce pipeline, supply chain, predicted economic growth and community improvement efforts.

"Corporate citizenship is not only about conducting business,” said Elkins. "It is also about uplifting the communities where we live, work and raise our families."
