Veronica Marshall will serve as the National Transportation Safety Board’s first chief human capital officer, NTSB Chair Jennifer Homendy announced yesterday.
Marshall will support Homendy’s goals of growing the agency's workforce, increasing diversity and investing in staff training and development, NTSB officials said in a press release.
Marshall has served as the human resources director for NASA since 2018, where she managed 30 HR professionals supporting more than 5,000 federal employees and a $15 million budget. Prior to NASA, Marshall led leadership development for the U.S. Postal Service.
"When I was sworn in, I committed to getting our people whatever they need to serve our mission — and that includes investing in a leader dedicated to their growth and development," said Homendy. "Veronica is the right leader to future-proof our workforce of dedicated experts, who are key to protecting safety in today’s rapidly changing transportation landscape."
