New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer recently nominated H. Dale Hemmerdinger as chairman of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA).
Hemmerdinger currently is president of The Hemmerdinger Corp., a New York City-based real estate development company, and president of Atco Properties & Management Inc. He also serves as a board member for Valley National Bank, trustee for New York University and the New York City Police Foundation, and executive vice president of the Realty Foundation.
“Dale has been a champion of fiscal stability, intelligent long-term planning and management accountability … throughout his business career,” said Spitzer in a prepared statement. “His charge is to ensure that the MTA becomes known for those qualities, as well.”
