Rail News: Railroading People
Today, New York Regional Rail Corp. (NYRR) announced it promoted Todd Sage to president and general manager of its trucking subsidiary JS Transportation (JST). He most recently served as general manager.
Sage plans to grow JST's business by jointly marketing services with NYRR's rail subsidiary New York Cross Harbor Railroad.
Earlier this year, he helped JST launch Dispatch Service, which offers fixed-rate vehicles and drivers to companies that need to truck more freight during peak demand periods or don't own trucks. NYRR more than doubled its revenue in April and May compared with similar 2003 data, primarily because of the service.
"Todd has been a guiding force for more than five years in directing JST into a more streamlined and cost effective competitor in the northeast," said NYRR board member Douglas Szalasny in a prepared statement.
