New York, Susquehanna & Western Railway Corp. (NYSW) has promoted Alan Held to vice president of transportation.

Held has been responsible for the safe and efficient operations of all transload facilities, the overseeing of personnel management, managing Federal Railway Administration compliance, and developing rulebooks and testing standards, company official said in a press release.

He also has contributed to the development of numerous capital projects, including a multimillion-dollar upgrade of a sugar transload facility, GIS mapping of the railroad and implementation of a systemwide service schedule.

Held joined the Cooperstown, New York-based NYSW in 2022. Previously, he was a manager of train operations at Union Pacific Railroad.
