Randy Bayles, group manager of ports at Norfolk Southern Corp., has been appointed to a three-year term on the Containerization & Intermodal Institute's (CII) board.

Bayles has more than 35 years of supply chain and intermodal experience, including 22 years at NS, where he's responsible for business development at intermodal and automotive ports in the United States and Canada. Prior to joining NS, Bayles worked for Yellow Freight System, Roadway Package System and National Shipping Co. of Saudi Arabia.

"Randy has an impressive and extensive background in the industry," said CII President Steve Blust in a press release. "On behalf of our board of directors, comprised of industry leaders who represent different sectors of the supply chain, we look forward to Randy's active involvement in our efforts to promote the value of containerization and intermodalism, as well as the pursuit of our education mission."
