North Carolina Railroad Co. (NCRR) Chief Financial Officer Dan Halloran retired on Feb. 1.

He had served as CFO for 20 years and was one of the company's earliest employees.

Halloran joined NCRR in 2000 and during his tenure worked with the railroad's leaders to grow revenue, develop staff, strengthen internal controls and oversee finances, NCRR officials said in a press release. The railroad owns and manages a 317-mile rail corridor that stretches from Charlotte to a port terminal in Morehead City.

“Dan has seen [us] through some of [our] most historic moments and it has been a privilege to work with him,” said NCRR President and Chief Executive Officer Carl Warren.
