Northern Plains Rail Cos. (NPRC) have named Dan Mack executive vice president of finance, marketing and sales.

Mack is responsible for strategic financial planning and leading the railroad’s marketing and sales activities.

Mack joins NPRC after 20 years at CHS Inc., where as VP of transportation and terminal operations he was responsible for rail, barge and ocean freight transportation activities. He also oversaw facility operations for the company's wholesale grain and agronomy bulk and liquid terminals, including export and bio fuels production facilities.

Prior to joining CHS, Mack worked for Canadian Pacific as a commercial account manager in the grain group.

"Dan Mack is one of the most respected executives in the transportation and logistics industry. We are pleased that he will be joining Northern Plains in this key executive role, leading our growth as a premier provider of rail logistics solutions," said NPRC Chairman Gregg Haug in a press release.

NPRC includes Northern Plains Railroad, a 350-mile regional in Minnesota and North Dakota; and Northern Plains Rail Services, which provides track construction and maintenance, car and locomotive repair, technical training and rail operation services.
