This week, the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) board elected its 2006 chairman and vice chairman.
The board named Buena Park Mayor Art Brown chairman to succeed Orange County Supervisor Bill Campbell, who currently chairs the Orange County Board of Supervisors.
Vice chairman in 2005 and OCTA board member since 1995, Brown is a retired Los Angeles County Deputy Sheriff. He also will chair the Metrolink board in 2006.
In addition, OCTA named Orange Mayor Pro Tem Carolyn Cavecche vice chairman. An OCTA board member since 2004, she was elected to the Orange City Council in 2001 and named mayor pro tem in 2003. Cavecche has served as chair of OCTA’s Central County Corridor Major Investment Study Committee and vice chair of its Regional Planning and Highways Committee.
