Yesterday, Oerlikon Contraves Inc. announced it appointed Pierre Stadler president and chief executive officer — effective July 1 — to succeed Al Osterwalder, who resigned after serving as the company's top officer the past five years.

Stalder most recently served as president and CEO of technology firm Daetwyler Holding AG's cable and systems division.

Oerlikon Contraves supplies integrated communications, data management and power electronics systems to railroads and mass transit agencies. The company also provides air-defense systems for homeland defense and military applications.
