OmniTRAX adds Kovac, Pietsch to management ranks
OmniTRAX Inc. recently appointed John Kovac vice president of transload logistics.
He has extensive experience in business development, rail operations and strategic planning, OmniTRAX officials said in a press release. Kovac previously held various operating positions with BNSF Railway Co., where he led the development of intermodal perishable and high-value chemical programs, as well as a U.S. transload network for both BNSF and CN. In addition, he developed the retail arm of CN's transload division.
"He looks at transloads as a major growth area, offering existing and new OmniTRAX customers access to additional markets, both regional and transcontinental," OmniTRAX officials said in a press release.
Earlier in May, OmniTRAX named William Pietsch regional director of sales and marketing-north. He most recently served J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. as a regional marketing manager.
"Bill routinely interfaced with the Class I railroads, such as BNSF and Norfolk Southern, to create solutions for mode conversion from the over-the-road freight to intermodal freight," OmniTRAX officials said.
OmniTRAX owns and operates 17 regionals and short lines, and provides switching, car storage, transloading and other services.
