On Aug. 26, OmniTRAX Inc. named Robert Parker executive vice president-rail, responsible for all of the short-line holding company's U.S. and Canadian railroads and switching companies.

A 25-year rail veteran, Parker most recently served RailAmerica Inc. for the past eight years as senior vice president, North/Atlantic corridor. He was responsible for 23 railroads, more than 3,500 track miles of track, 800 employees and revenue exceeding $120 million.

"We are extremely pleased to bring in a veteran of the rail industry like Bob Parker," said OmniTRAX President Dwight Johnson in a prepared statement. "He will also be responsible for improving profitability, safety and operational efficiency at all our railroads."
