OmniTRAX Inc. announced today that Dean Piacente will become the company's chief executive officer on Feb. 1.

Piacente, who has more than 20 years of tenure as a CSX commercial executive, will succeed Kevin Shuba, who has taken on a new role with OmniTRAX parent, The Broe Group.

"Dean is one of the most respected business leaders in rail. His depth of Class I commercial experience, record of sustained results and demonstrated leadership make him the ideal person to lead OmniTRAX's continued growth," said David Garin, an OmniTRAX board member, in a press release.

Piacente has more than three decades of financial planning, analysis and expertise in the intermodal, industrial, chemical, energy and third-party logistics sectors across North America's rail network. His experience at CSX includes roles as vice president of industrial products and as VP of intermodal.

"OmniTRAX's growth is truly impressive and has produced a strong franchise comprised of diverse rail properties in key markets with tremendous opportunities that span the nation," said Piacente. "I'm excited to bring my Class I customer and partner relationships to OmniTRAX to help realize our full potential."

OmniTRAX's capabilities include providing transportation and supply chain management services to railroad and port companies, and intermodal and industrial switching operations to railroads, ports and industrial companies. Through its affiliation with The Broe Group, OmniTRAX also offers industrial development and real estate solutions on and off the rail network it manages.
