Operation Lifesavers names new coordinators in three states

Operation Lifesaver Inc. (OLI) has appointed state coordinators to head its rail safety programs in Oklahoma, Wisconsin and Kansas.
Mark Sexton is the new Oklahoma coordinator. He has been an OLI volunteer since 2016 and serves as a law enforcement liaison for the Federal Railroad Administration. Sexton is a 30-year veteran of the Oklahoma City Police Department, where he investigated train incidents and spent 20 years as an accident deconstructionist in the department’s fatality collision unit.
Gary Koerner, the new Wisconsin coordinator, has been involved in OLI since 2012 and is a certified OLI volunteer coach. He previously served as vice chair and chair on OLI’s board. Koerner is lead electrician for Appvion and serves on the company’s safety committees.
Aaron Mays, the Kansas coordinator, assumed the role in September 2018. He is president of The Mays Group, a family consulting firm specializing in association management and government relations. He also serves on the Topeka City Council and is chairman of the Shawnee County Civil Service Board.
