Yesterday, Pacer Global Logistics (PGL) named Peter Ruotsi chief commercial officer.
He most recently served Pacer Stacktrain — another subsidiary of Pacer International — as executive vice president of business development.
Between 1968 and 1988, Ruotsi served Xerox Corp. in various sales capacities, then joined APL (formerly American President Cos.) as VP and quality officer. Between 1990 and 1996, he served Southern Pacific Transportation Co.'s intermodal division as EVP of sales and business development, and EVP and general manager.
"[Ruotsi's] extensive experience in leading sales and marketing organizations will further strengthen our ability to deliver PGL's various products to an expanding customer base," said Pacer International Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Don Orris in a prepared statement.
A third-party logistics provider, PGL offers intermodal marketing, trucking, warehousing and distribution, international freight forwarding and supply-chain management services.
