Balfour Beatty has hired Steven Reiser as chief estimator in the west for its U.S. civils operations. Reiser will oversee the project estimation process in the rail, highway and bridge sectors in California, as well as support the process for major infrastructure projects across the country. Reiser has over 30 years of experience in the California heavy civil market sector and has facilitated multiple public and private infrastructure.
HDI Global Insurance Co., which insures Class I, regionals, short lines and passenger railroads, yesterday announced the appointment of Thomas Long as U.S. casualty lead. With an insurance career spanning over 35 years, Long has held a variety of senior underwriting and leadership positions for traditional and alternative risk markets, HDI officials said in a press release.
