Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) announced yesterday that Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer Bernard Jackson has accepted a position as chief operating officer at the Metropolitan Transportation Authority in New York. Jackson's last day at DART is May 2. Over the coming weeks, DART will name an interim COO and initiate nationwide recruitment search to fill the vacant position, according to a press release.

North County Transit–San Diego Railroad (NCTD) has appointed Lori Winfree to serve as the agency’s deputy CEO. In this role, she will advise CEO Shawn Donaghy and the board as the agency embarks on several defining mega projects on the eve of its 50th anniversary. Winfree will also continue her role as NCTD’s chief general counsel, with responsibility for the agency’s workers’ compensation, risk management, safety and legal teams. She joined NCTD in 2013.

Delta Railroad Services CEO Linda Laurello has been named to the Ashtabula Regional Medical Center Foundation's board in Ohio. "It's a privilege to join the ARMC Foundation Board, especially given the hospital's historical roots in serving railroad workers," said Laurello in a press release. Laurello's expertise in driving strategic and operational growth, coupled with her deep-rooted community connections, will be instrumental in advancing ARMC's mission to positively impact the health of the Ashtabula community, foundation officials said.

The National Industrial Transportation League (NITL) this week announced the launch of its inaugural Emerging Leaders Program, a year-long initiative designed to give emerging leaders the necessary tools, knowledge and resources they need to prepare for executive advancement in their companies and the shipping industry. Co-chairs of the program are Kris Matthews, director, field services, ARMADA Supply Chain Solutions; and Daniel Anderson, vice president, corporate strategy, Trinity Industries Inc. The program is open to NITL members. The nomination deadline for the class of 2026 is Dec. 1.
