Frank Lonegro has been named president and CEO of Landstar System Inc., a provider of integrated transportation management solutions. He will succeed current President and CEO James Gattoni on Feb. 2. Gattoni will serve as a special adviser to the CEO until he retires in July. Lonegro is joining Landstar from Beacon Building Products, where he is executive vice president and chief financial officer. Prior to working at Beacon, Lonegro worked for nearly 20 years at CSX, where he served in a number of capacities, including as EVP and CFO from 2015 to 2019, president of CSX Technology, VP of service design and VP of mechanical. "Frank’s broad financial, operational and technology leadership at large, publicly traded organizations make for an outstanding fit at Landstar," said Chair Diana Murphy in a press release.

The Surface Transportation Board (STB) announced the retirement of General Counsel Craig Keats, who served more than 50 years in public service. He began his career as an attorney at the Interstate Commerce Commission (ICC) in 1972, and served continuously since then through the transition from the ICC to the STB. In 1980, Keats joined the Office of the General Counsel; in 2000, he was appointed deputy general counsel; and in 2013, he became general counsel. Keats has briefed and argued many of the agency’s most important cases. In 2018, he was named the John T. Stewart, Jr. Transportation Lawyer of the Year by the Federal Bar Association’s Transportation and Transportation Security Law Section.
