Metrolink has appointed Alberto Lara chief people officer. He is responsible for managing and overseeing talent acquisition, diversity and inclusion, staff development, and learning and compensation. In addition, Lara now serves as the equal employment opportunity officer. He has more than 30 years of human resources experience, mainly in California and Washington state government settings.

HNTB has named Eloy Martinez project director for fleet engineering, project management and advisory services. He has more than 25 years of experience in transit, commuter, intercity passenger, high-speed rail and freight rolling stock design, procurement, safety and regulatory compliance. Martinez has held positions in the public and private sectors. Before joining HNTB, he was a consultant, helping such clients as the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, Federal Railroad Administration, Amtrak, Caltrain and New Jersey Transit.

The National Mediation Board (NMB) has named Loren Sweatt chair. Deirdre Hamilton and Linda Puchala remain as board members, according to an NMB news release. Sweatt comes to the board from the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions, where she most recently was a senior professional staff member. Sweatt previously served as the principal deputy assistant secretary with the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
