National Transportation Safety Board Chair Jennifer Homendy this week was confirmed by the U.S. Senate to serve another three-year term as chair, according to a news release.The Senate also confirmed the nomination of Patrick  Fuchs to a second term as a member of the Surface Transportation Board. His second term expires Jan. 14, 2029.

North County Transit District has hired Alex Denis as chief procurement officer. He will be responsible for NCTD's procurement and contract management across all departments. The position will also help streamline and create new policies to ensure the district’s regulatory compliance at the state and federal levels, according to an NCTD release. Denis most recently served as chief procurement officer for the City of Miami Beach, Florida.

HDR Inc.'s Erin Slayton has been elected to WTS International's executive committee. Her initial two-year term as vice chair will be followed by two years as chair and then two years serving as past chair of the 9,000-member organization. Slayton serves as HDR’s transportation program management services director and has been a participant with WTS for much of her two-decade career. WTS is committed to furthering women in transportation.
