Norfolk Southern Corp. has named Felismina De Oliveira vice president of enterprise resources, reporting directly to Chief Operating Officer John Orr. The move expands the responsibilities of her previous role as assistant vice president of enterprise resources to include the company’s precision fuel program, strategic supplier management and sourcing. De Oliveira joined in June and has since played a pivotal role in driving innovation and efficiency throughout the company, significantly contributing to the railway’s operational improvement, NS officials said in a press release. In her new role, De Oliveira will focus on transforming the company’s broader sourcing function. Leveraging data and resources, she will lead partnerships to further refine processes and eliminate waste, company officials said.

TNW Corp. has promoted Dan Blank to director of sales. He will lead the development and execution of strategic sales initiatives, manage and optimize sales operations. Blank joined TNW in early 2024 as senior manager of sales. Previously, he spent 15 years at Union Pacific Railroad, serving in roles including assistant vice president, chief safety officer, and general director of crew management services. In 2022, Blank was a founding member and executive leader of NDev LLC, a Nebraska business specializing in material distribution and supply chain efficiencies.

The Broward County Board of County Commissioners appointed Lamar Fisher to serve as its representative on the South Florida Regional Transportation Authority's (SFRTA) governing board. Fisher is president and CEO of Fisher Auction Company Inc., a real estate brokerage and auction firm in Pompano Beach, Florida. SFRTA operates Tri-Rail.

The Republican Steering Committee in the U.S. House of Representatives has recommended U.S. Rep. Sam Graves (R-Mo.) continue to serve as chairman of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee in the 119th Congress. “The committee will hit the ground running in 2025," Graves said in a prepared statement. "Our work will include working with President Trump to advance his infrastructure priorities, developing the next long-term surface transportation reauthorization, and reprioritizing policies that are consistent with the core purpose of infrastructure in the first place — moving people and goods safely and efficiently throughout our country." The House Republican Conference still must vote to approve the Steering Committee’s recommendations.
