Valley Metro in Phoenix has hired Michael Eshleman as deputy chief of service planning. His leadership will be instrumental in shaping future service strategies and strengthening partnerships with regional stakeholders to improve public transit accessibility and reliability, Valley Metro officials said in a press release. Eshleman comes to Valley Metro from the Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District in Oakland, California, where he served as service planning Manager since 2015. In that role, he oversaw service planning for a 23-jurisdiction area with a fleet of 630 buses and 1,200 operators.

Indiana Gov. Mike Braun this week announced the appointment of Lyndsay Quist as commissioner of the Indiana Department of Transportation as of March 31. The INDOT commissioner oversees the planning, building and maintenance of transportation infrastructure in the state. Most recently, Quist served as deputy commissioner of capital program management at INDOT since May 2022. In that role, she oversaw the department's capital and local programs; major and special projects; environmental, engineering, asset management and right-of-way services; and multimodal and innovation efforts. Quist has been with INDOT since 2013. Prior to joining the department, she began her career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at the New Orleans District in Louisiana.
