Pioneer Lines yesterday announced changes to its leadership team.

The company named Thomas Hurlbut chief financial officer to succeed Carrie Genualdi, who retired earlier this month. A 30-year rail industry veteran, Hurlbut previously served Norfolk Southern Railway in various roles, including vice president, controller and interim CFO.

Meanwhile, Pioneer Lines expanded Nate Henderson's role to include chief commercial officer in addition to his corporate development responsibilities. Henderson, who has 20 years of industry experience, will lead the company’s strategic growth initiatives, such as by aligning commercial activities, industrial development and acquisitions. Pioneer Lines' business development team will now report to Henderson.

"Our team of industry experts is focused on providing creative solutions for our customers that allow us to strengthen our franchise and contribute to the communities we serve," said Pioneer Lines Chief Executive Officer Alex Yeros in a press release. "I thank Carrie for her valuable contributions to Pioneer and wish her well in retirement."

Last week, the company announced it changed its name to Pioneer Lines from Pioneer Railcorp.
