RailAmerica Inc. has added Class I and regional veterans to its executive staff.

The short-line holding company recently named Josh Putterman assistant vice president and Darryl Gabriel, regional chief engineer.

Reporting to VP Paul Lundberg, Putterman will be responsible for Class I business relationships. He can draw from extensive large-road experience — Putterman spent the past 16 years at CSX Transportation, most recently as AVP of advanced engineering and service design. He previously held various regional finance, operations and locomotive planning positions.

Reporting to Regional VP Ray Stephens, Gabriel will be responsible for engineering and maintenance functions for eight regionals and short lines in the central United States. He most recently served Florida East Coast Railway as general director of maintenance. Gabriel previously was a trackman, track supervisor, roadmaster, assistant division engineer and division engineer for the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway.

RailAmerica owns and operates 42 regionals and short lines in the United States and Canada.
