Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan on Wednesday named Kevin Quinn administrator of the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA).

Quinn has been serving as acting administrator since June 6. He previously served as director of planning and programming to ensure MTA delivered on its service goals.

"In just a few months, Kevin has shown his commitment to delivering a true transit network in the Baltimore region and throughout Maryland with strong leadership, innovation and collaboration with all our transit partners,” said Maryland Transportation Secretary Pete Rahn in a press release.

Before joining the agency, Quinn worked at STV, where he served as mid-Atlantic regional planning manager focused on transportation.

MTA operates a 30-mile light-rail route, as well as a 15-mile heavy-rail line.
