R. J. Corman Railroad Co. recently named Sherman (Pete) Petree Jr. president to succeed Ron Boles, who retired after serving the short-line holding company for 17 years. Petree will report to R. J. Corman Railroad Group President Tammie Taylor.

He previously served CSX Transportation for more than 25 years, most recently as assistant superintendent of the railroad's Huntington, W.Va., district.

Boles, who spent 42 years in railroading, also served CSXT in various capacities prior to joining R. J. Corman, which owns and operates 11 short lines in Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, New York and Pennsylvania.

Meanwhile, R. J. Corman Railroad Construction Co. L.L.C. named Kenneth Johnson Jr. president, reporting to Taylor.

Johnson also previously served CSXT — for nearly 20 years — most recently as division engineer within the railroad's Midwest Region.
