RailAmerica, Florida East Coast appoint six regional VPs

Last week, RailAmerica Inc. and Florida East Coast Railway (FECR) named a six-member senior executive team. Now, the companies — both of which are owned by private-equity funds managed by Fortress Investment Group Inc. affiliates — have appointed six regional vice presidents to oversee operations.

The regional VPs are:
• Jeffrey Geary, who will manage the Southeast Region, including the Alabama & Gulf Coast, South Carolina Central, Carolina Piedmont, Eastern Alabama, Indiana Southern, North Carolina & Virginia, Chesapeake & Albemarle and Virginia Southern railroads;
• Bob Jones, who will head the West region, including the Arizona & California, California Northern, Central Oregon & Pacific, Cascade & Columbia River, Puget Sound & Pacific, San Diego & Imperial Valley, Ventura County and San Joaquin Valley railroads;
• Brad Ovitt, who will oversee the Midwest region, including the Chicago, Fort Wayne & Eastern, Toledo, Peoria & Western, Central Railroad of Indianapolis, Central Railroad of Indiana, Indiana & Ohio, Grand Rapids Eastern, Huron & Eastern, Michigan Shore and Mid-Michigan railroads;
• Ray Stephens, who will manage the Central Region, including the Bauxite & Northern, Dallas, Garland & Northeastern, Texas Northeastern, Kiamichi, Kyle, Otter Tail Valley, Point Comfort & Northern, Rockdale, Sandow & Southern, and Missouri & Northern Arkansas railroads;
• Peter Touesnard, who will head the Northeast Region, including the Cape Breton & Central Nova Scotia, Connecticut Southern, Goderich-Exeter, Massena Terminal, New England Central, Ottawa Valley and Southern Ontario railroads; and
• Steve Truitt, who will be responsible for FECR's overall operations.
