Invensys Rail Group (IRG) has appointed Kevin Riddett president of subsidiary Safetran Systems Corp., effective Nov. 5.
He will be responsible for integrating recent IRG acquisition Quantum Engineering into Safetran’s business. Rick Soldo, who had served as Safetran’s interim president, now will continue in his former role as vice president of operations. Soldo also will assume added responsibility for integrating Quantum’s onboard signaling, locomotive performance and controls technology into Safetran’s business.
Riddett most recently was president and chief executive officer of Pirelli’s U.S. Tyre and Cable business. Prior to joining Pirelli 12 years ago, he served as president and CEO of Union Switch and Signal Inc.
“As president of Safetran, [Riddett] will play an important part in the further globalization of our business, helping to bring our leading-edge technologies to the market,” said IRG President and CEO James Drummond in a prepared statement.
