The deadline to nominate someone for Progressive Railroading's second annual "Rising Stars" recognition program is just a few days away.

Progressive Railroading defines a Rising Star as someone under the age of 40 who is making a positive difference in his or her company, department or team, and is viewed by others — peers, colleagues, supervisors, clients or associates — as a rising star in the rail industry.
Progressive Railroading will select 20 Rising Stars and publish their profiles in the September 2014 issue.

This year's Rising Stars also will be recognized at a dinner to be held at the Union League Club in Chicago on Sept. 14 during the American Association of Railroad Superintendents Annual Conference.

Nominees must be younger than 40 years of age on Sept. 1, 2014, and currently work in North America's railroad industry. Rising Star candidates must be willing to participate in our process, answer questions from Progressive Railroading staff and supply a photo for publication.

To nominate a Rising Star, fill out the nomination survey. Explain in a written statement how the nominee is making a positive difference in the railroad industry.

Candidates will be considered for recognition based on qualities such as their contributions to railroading, career achievements, demonstrated leadership, education and/or training, and professional association activity or community involvement.

The nomination deadline is March 15. Nominations submitted after that date will not be considered for recognition this year. Follow this link to access the nomination form, additional details about the Rising Stars dinner and the profiles of last year's honorees.
